38th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting to Benefit
Columbia College culinary Arts program
This spring the Columbia College Foundation will host the 38th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting – a benefit event from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13 to support the Columbia College Culinary Arts Program. This popular event, one of California’s premier wine tastings, takes place in the historic gold rush town of Columbia. More than 80 wineries and food vendors will set up shop in the State Park’s historic buildings, making it one of the most unique tastings in the West. Delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by culinary students and various local food purveyors are a highlight every year.
Accredited by the prestigious American Culinary Federation, Columbia’s culinary arts program prepares students for various hospitality management careers. “Our graduates can be found in successful careers throughout the Mother Lode region, as well as all over the world,” said Gene Womble, the college’s hospitality management program coordinator. “Proceeds from the wine tasting provide scholarships and equipment for our program. We appreciate the community’s support and are confident that those who attend will have a great time.”
Reservations can be purchased in advance for $50 per person between February 1st and April 7th, 2014; they will also be sold for $60 per person at the door as available.
