Columbia Jazz Artist Series – Double Concert Weekend
The Columbia Jazz Artist Series is announcing the start of their 35th season with a special double concert weekend on Saturday, Oct 5 and Sunday, Oct 6. The concerts will feature top jazz performers, vocalist Elaine Gibbs and woodwind artist Paul Contos, with the 20-piece Columbia Big Band and singers. The West Side Trail is a widely used and enjoyed local recreation area located approximately one mile northeast from Tuolumne off Buchanan Road. Recently, the Bureau of Land Management spearheaded a project to install interpretative kiosks and new signs along the West Side Trail to enrich the overall experience. Over One hundred and fifty singers from Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties will participate in “A Festival of Singing” on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sonora High School auditorium. The Columbia College Foundation will host the annual Columbia College Scholarship and Awards Celebration from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24 in the Dogwood Forum.
