On April 25th at 7:30 pm and April 26th at 3:00 pm, 2015, the Columbia College Community Chorus with orchestra will captivate audiences with their annual Spring Concert at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sonora. This year’s program begins with the haunting but uplifting Requiem by John Rutter followed by a set of English madrigals and African-American spirituals. Of course, there is the traditional audience sing-along with My Grandfather’s Clock in a special arrangement by Dr. Hollinger in its first-ever performance.
A special treat for this concert is guest harpist, Dr. Beverly Wesner-Hoehn. A native Californian, she earned her Doctor of Music degree in Harp Performance with High Distinction, from Indiana University in 1989. She has performed as a soloist in France, Austria and Israel as well as Disney’s Epcot Center, and the United States Senate Ambassadors Ball, to name a fraction of her accomplishments.
Solos will feature Linda Carter, Chuck Maxon, and Diane Epler. In addition, a fun duet with the Chorus will be performed by Diane Wright and Janet Russell.
Tickets are $10 pre-sale, $12 at the door, and $5 for ages 12 and under. Tickets are available at: Manzanita Bookstore, The Mountain Bookshop, and Murphys Music Company.
